ADR
All drivers carrying dangerous goods within the scope of the Carriage of Dangerous Goods Regulations require a Driver Training Certificate issued by DVLA. The Certificate is issued once you have satisfactorily completed an approved course which involves examinations set by the SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority).
DGSA
It is a legal requirement that all companies involved in the transport of dangerous goods by road appoint a Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser (DGSA).
The duty of the DGSA is to advise on how to achieve the safe transport and handling of these goods, in compliance with national and international regulations.
Driver CPC
From September 2009 all drivers of vehicles over 3.5 tonnes are required to complete 35 hours of periodic training by September 2014 in order to acquire their Driver CPC qualification.
Freight CPC
The CPC is a qualification required by law for anyone wishing to operate medium and large goods vehicles. To demonstrate professional competence, candidates must sit formal examinations with OCR and successfully complete a case study as part of the examination process to obtain a CPC qualification.
Passenger CPC
The Certificate of Professional Competence in Passenger Transport is a qualification required by law for anyone wishing to operate passenger service vehicles. It is also suitable for anybody involved in passenger transport at management level or persons seeking to develop their career in this area.
